Comprehensive Epidemiologic Data Resource (CEDR)
The Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) recently became the home of the DOE Comprehensive Epidemiologic Data Resource (CEDR). CEDR is a public-use repository that contains data from occupational and environmental health studies of workers at DOE facilities and nearby community residents.
ORISE's responsibilities for CEDR include:
- Redesigning and maintaining the CEDR Web site
- Ensuring the integrity and accessibility of the data
- Working with CEDR users to answer questions and provide assistance
- Updating the CEDR holdings catalog
- Providing assistance to federal government programs (e.g., the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program) that may need CEDR data
Planned CEDR updates will result in content and structural revisions, including changes to the way data are presented. CEDR makes deidentified DOE active and former worker data available for public research. CEDR has also been used as a resource to inform Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA) efforts for selected groups of workers.
