Multimedia Designer 1

PURPOSE: Designs computer- and Web-based applications using software tools such as Adobe and Microsoft products and scripting languages, markup languages, Web browsers and server-side technologies to support training and other online content to leverage technological capabilities in the development of dynamic and routine interactive instructional activities or job aids.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Analyzes target platform and technical specifications; assists with designing prototypes; develops application scripts and code.

 

  • Develops routine level interactivity including animations and screen designs in development of online training courses.

 

  • Performs the duties of multimedia designer on multiple projects.

 

  • Creates and executes graphical interface treatments for online multimedia Websites and electronic documents.

 

  • Optimizes learning modules for Web deployment including pre-loaders, audio and video quality, frame rates, and staging.

 

  • Other related duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Associate's degree in multimedia technology or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience with one (1) year up to two (2) years job-related experience. Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ActionScript and the Flash development environment. Knowledge of software and project development lifecycles. Understanding of graphic design and layout principles. Knowledge of Section 508 compliance issues and standards. Familiarity with the terms and principles of the computer/web-based training market. Interest in staying on top of the latest technologies.
